Results of the Winter Quarterly Tournament
We had a strong showing at the December tournament, both in numbers and player strength. There was a field of 12 players topped by Matthew Burrall, 7d. But more importantly, there were 5 players in Division 2, including Dang Hoang who was playing in his first rated tournament.
Matthew Burrall, 7d, and Karoline Burrall, 5k, won their divisions with 4-0 records.

There were only 7 players in the tournament held on September 18 at the Arcade Library, in Sacramento. Since all but one of the players would normally have been in the upper division, all of them were combined into one section. Willard Haynes won with a 3-0 record on tie breaks.
